The very large tom walked over to the river. His heart felt low and his head was racing. What should he do. Grayfur would be out to get him, and it wasn't even a big deal. He hadn't done anything wrong. Jinxfire looked down at his paws as he sat down. How could this be happening?

Honeypaw was hunting nearby. She had just caught a mouse, and was burying it in the dirt. She could smell a ThunderClan cat close by. Curious- as always- she padded over to see who it was. She was surprised to see Jinxfire by the river. Curious, she padded over. "Jinxfire?" she asked timidly.

The large tom jumped up, and tripped over his paws. Jinxfire feel into the river, and went under. Coughing as he came to the surface, and quickly made his way out. Once on dry land, he shoock out his pelt from the droplets of water. "Um, hey Honeypaw," he meowed timidly to the ginger she-cat.

"sorry," mewed Honeypaw, "I didn't mean to startle you." She didn't know whether or not she should be talking to her older Clan-mate so un-formally. "W-What's wrong?" she managed to stammer. She scraped at the ground with her paws.

"Startle me? No, no" he meowed shaking his big head from side to side. "Why would you think that?" Jinxfire coughed again and looked at Honeypaw, and smiled. "Nothing's wrong, just,... thinking." He lied to the apprentice. He didn't want her to think anything bad of the deputy.

Honeypaw didn't think everything looked okay. But she didn't press the matter, only sat down and curled her ginger tail around her paws. She licked her paw, and drew it over her ear. She was thinking too. She had seen Jinxfire sitting by the river, and it hadn't looked as if everything was okay. She wondered if something bad had happened. She was a very curious apprentice. Finally, she worked up the courage to speak again, "Jinxfire," she mewed, "A few moments ago, everything didn't look okay. I may just be an apprentice, but you can trust me. I swear on StarClan that I wouldn't tell anyone."

Jinxfire looked down. He wasn't much more than an apprentice apprentice himself. "It's not that I don't want anyone knowing,.." he meowed quietly, almost to quiet to be heard. The big tom looked at Honeypaw. She had her soft ginger tail curled around herself. SHe was a pretty apprentice, he noticed. He looked away and started at his own reflection in the river, which rippled slowly.

Honeypaw blinked slowly. "Then what's wrong?" she persisted. She looked up as clouds covered the sun for a moment, casting a shadow over the cats. The wind blew violently, and some long-dead leaves blew past.

Jinxfire's muscles tensed, and he rounded on the cat, "Quit questioning me!" he growled. The drak furred warrior loomed over her as he looked down, eyes blazing. He wasn't really mad at the apprentice, he was mad at himself, and Grayfur. Oh, Grayfur was sure one of the things he was mad about. Though he'd only known how to take his angry out on others. Fir how he no friends as a kit, as an apprentice, and barely any now.

Honeykit flinched. She was terrified. But she did not move. She simply glared back at Jinxfire. "What's your problem?" she hissed. "I was only trying to help!" She thought she saw a bit of sadness in his eyes. She shouldn't have been speaking to a Warrior so openly. She was only an apprentice. She sighed. "Fine." she mewed.

Spiritdream padded slowly towards the river. The upcoming storm did not matter to her. She flicked her tail and continued onward, feeling almost lost in this hostile world of battles and blood. She only wanted to rest and live in a bloodless and uncruel world where you didn't have to guard your territory. She came upon Honeypaw and Jinxfire quite by accident. The dreamy look in her eyes faded as she reluntantly pulled herself back into this world. "Hello, Jinxfire. Hello, Honeypaw."She mewed rather slowly as though trying to get her bearings. She noticed that Jinxfire looked angry and Honeypaw rather angry and scared. Spiritdream stepped up and asked quietly, her voice barely a whisper in the howling wind, "Is there something wrong here?"

Honeypaw ripped her gaze off of Jinxfire. She gazed at Spiritdream blankly. What should she say. "It's nothing I guess," she mewed. She stalked a few paces away from Jinxfire and sat down. She curled her tail around her paws once again. She gave her shoulder a few licks, to flatten her bristling fur. A few moments ago, she had thought that her and Jinxfire were getting along quite well; maybe they were even friends. What had she done? I guess he just really doesn't want to talk about it... she reflected. She tried to give Spiritdream a smile, but she couldn't. One side of her mouth twitched up momentarily. The other stayed in the same spot. Honeypaw rolled her eyes. She was slightly annoyed.

Spiritdream smiled kindly and whispered,"It sure doesn't look like it."She mewed and indicated Jinxfire. Then she approached Jinxfire and let her firey orbs settle on him."Well? Your reason for scaring apprentices and acting like a kit is?"She softened her tone slightly as he looked troubled. "I won't bite your head off. You probably taste bad."

Though well the she-cat talked to him, he keep his eyes set on Honeypaw. Anger, fear, and confusion clouded his eyes, though anger was winning the outlook. After a moment of hesitation, he managed to move his glare from Honeypaw to Spiritdream. He said nothing, only turned on his heels and walked a distance away, settling down where he was. slowly coming raindrops hit his already wet head. He shivered and licked his chest a few times.
