Personality: Cedarcloud is a very bold tom. He always speaks his mind, and is scared of no one. Cedarcloud longs to be loyal to the Warrior Code, but sometimes fails to do so. He is very gentle with younger cats, and can be very loving as well. He is bad at keeping secrets, for he always feels guilty about them. He would never hurt his leader in any way, for he has so much respect for her. Cedarcloud seems like a very fierce cat to other Clans, but ThunderClan know that he is calm and gentle. But in battles, Cedarcloud is a cat to be feared.
History: Cedarcloud was abused as kit. His mother died giving birth to him, so his father was very upset. Cedarcloud's father blamed his kit for Cedarcloud's mother's death. The father was so upset with Cedarcloud that he would attack him. Cedarcloud was very hurt, and almost died. When the Clan found out, they sent Cedarcloud's father into exile. Under the constant care of the medicine cat, Cedarcloud finally recovered. He was cared for by another queen. Cedarcloud grew up, always remembering his past. As he grew up, he became fiercer and fiercer. He never wanted to be like his father; a cat who hurt his Clan. So Cedarcloud made sure that he was always kind to his Clan. He would never ever hurt any of them.
When he was a young warrior, Cedarcloud fell in love with a WindClan she-cat. He beleived that they were doing no harm to anyone by seeing eachother. He did not tell his Clan, and neither did she. They would talk at gatherings, and sneak out at night to see eachother. Cedarcloud felt happier than he ever had before. It felt like the kit-hood he never had. The carefree days with a cat he loved. One day, a WindClan patrol found them. Cedarcloud's mate refused to stop seeing him. She was kept under constant surveillance. One day, Cedarcloud snuck to her camp. He realized that they had her guarded, but were not feeding her. He recognized the lump of black fur sprawled out on the ground; it was his mate. He could see every single one of her ribs through her black pelt. She was not in good shape. Without being seen, he snuck over to her. Quietly, he took her by the scruff of her neck, and left WindClan. He carried her back to his own territory. He made her a soft nest, and layed her in it. She finally woke up. Cedarcloud tried to make her better, but failed. She died soon after.
Cedarcloud never forgave himself for bringing her to her death. It was his fault that she had died. If they had never fallen in love, her Clan would not have neglected her. Now she was dead. When he did not come back to ThunderClan, they went looking for him. They found Cedarcloud by the WindClan she-cats body. Cedarcloud could not make up an excuse; there was no way out of this one. He told them, and ThunderClan punished him. But Cedarcloud always was grateful towards his leader, for not punishing him too badly.
After that, Cedarcloud devoted himself to being the most loyal warrior he could be. Though he found himself gazing across the WindClan border many times, he never put a paw across the border again.
IC: Cedarcloud's ears perked up. He scented the rabbit a moment before he had spotted it. The big tabby gave chase, never taking his eyes off his prey. He had to catch it. It was for Nightflower. He pounced with his claws unsheathed and landed on the furry brown rabbit. He dispatched it quickly, then picked it up and trotted off. He thought about Nightflower, his beautiful WindClan mate. He thought of her limp black body, laying motionless in a nest of moss that he had made for her. He ran faster, running to where he had left her. Maybe she's woken up. he thought. But he doubted it. After what her Clan had put her through, he doubted she'd be awake for a while. But there was still a slight chance, and if she'd woken up, he had a rabbit to give to her. He had cought lots of prey in the last few days for her, hoping to give it to Nightflower if she'd woken up. But she hadn't. She'd been laying motionless in that nest, with only the rise and fall of her flank as she slept. Cedarcloud had forced some food down her throat the other day, but she had coughed most of it back up.
He burst into the small den he had made them both. It was in a patch of bracken, not far from the WindClan border. He gasped when he heard a faint murmer coming from the black she-cat. "Ced-Cedarcloud?" she murmured. Her eyes were still closed. Cedarcloud pushed his muzzle against hers. "I'm here," he whispered. "I'm here for you Nightflower." he licked her face, and purred. She was awake.
"I'm... hungry," the WindClan cat managed to say.
"Here," mewed Cedarcloud, "I caught you something." He bit off a peice of the rabbit, and gave it to Nightflower. "try to eat it."
Nightflower managed to eat some of it, but Cedarcloud was dissapointed when she vomited it back up, not long after. "We'll try again soon." he moaned.
He curled up beside her and began washing her black pelt. He ran his tongue over her in gentle strokes. He sang a soft lullaby to her. Then Nightflower fell asleep. Cedarcloud rested his big head on her shoulder. He did not go to sleep, only listened to his mate's heartbeat. "I love you," he murmured.
Nightflower never heard it. She was fast asleep.
