.ooc;. This very post is open to anyone who dares to enter. [d.e.s.p.e.r.a.t.e.l.y] What meaning did life have? This question has several answers. Some cats may think it is to be the best cat in the Clan. To some it may have power over everyone. And to some try to be the best you can be. Try hard but don't compete with others. These answers were right but the real meaning of life. Some cats say it is to stand up for what is right or protect your Clan. That is right but not the real meaning. The right meaning to life is love and thats the way it was for Mythstar.
[s.e.a.r.c.h.i.n.g.] It wasn't like Mythstar was lonely or forgotten. Oh no. He was a Leader and having a lonely Leader wasn't a good thing. He wasn't lonely at all. Actually, he was popular among his Clanmates but he needed something. Someone, Someone that was oh so very close to him. Someone that he could tell all of his secrets to. Someone he could actually talk to. Every cat in his Clan didn't quite understand the mysterious Leader. Probably no one could understand the Leader. Only one cat that was close to him could really know the true him and thats why he needed someone to understand him.
[f.o.r.] Let's just get down to the point. He was looking for a mate. Actually he had been looking for a mate since he became a warrior but no cat really appealed to understanding him perfectly. Thats the kind of cat he was looking for. If he could, he would try to find someone in his Clan. And if he couldn't find anyone then... Well there was one thing that was for sure. He wasn't going to ThunderClan for a mate. He would stick to the code and find someone here. Even if it killed him. There were a couple things he was looking in a mate. One thing was for sure, he wanted a calm mate. Not peppy and hyper all the time. That would just annoy him to death. And he wanted a she-cat that would understand him. That was it. He didn't care what she looked like. He cared about what was on the inside of this cat.
[y.o.u.] So his thinking lead him away from camp and usually to the stream where he spent his evenings by, just sitting and thinking about his life. He would run through his day and think of all the things that had happened that day. He would also think about the cats in his Clan. Not just the she-cats but the apprentices becoming warriors and the kits becoming apprentices. Or even, how old his Medicine Cat is and if there is a Medicine Cat apprentice. Today as he sat by the slow moving water, he wasn't quite sure what to think about. There wasn't a lot going on and there were no cats that dared to step in there territory and no fights to worry about. It was always to tranquil sitting next to the stream and listening to the water pass by.

Soft steps. Two pairs, walking side-by-side. The light tabby body of Silentscream stopped, a paw raised in mid-step. His pale-colored eyes rested on Mythstar. Instantly, and as if on instinct, he dropped his head. Sorrowsong's darker fur seemed to stain the pure air that rested beside him, her doubtful glare pointed at the Leader. She flattened her torn auds, eyes narrowed. Doubt and Betrayal The words breifly fluttered through Sorrowsong's mind, and she pushed them away. Beside her, Silentscream was gazing adimirably up at Mythstar, tail curled around his small paws.

ooc; Me likey... Immediately Mythstar could pick out the two scents and out of the corner of his eye he could see them but right now his eyes were focused on the water that rushed along the pathway to who-knows-where. His tranquil scene might have been ruined but that didn't mean he had to turn and talk to these cats right away. They would have to be patient and wait until he was finished. He soon could name the cats. The one was Silentscream. He had always liked Silentscream because he didn't talk much. He never liked the chatty cats that blabber on and on about stupid things that he never cared about. Silentscream respected the Leader like no other cat in the Clan and was one hundred percent loyal. He liked cats like Silentscream. The other cat was Silentscreams mother. She was Sorrowsong. Sorrowsong had a temper like no other but at times she could be polite and nice to other cats. Mythstar could live with her. She was loyal and a good fighter. He guessed that was enough.
After a few long moments of silence, the cream colored tom stood from his sitting position by the bank and turned to face the two cats. He saw Silentscream bowing his head to him and he felt a rush of respect surge through him. Mythstar said not one little thing at first. Just looked at the two cats and how they looked at him. Sorrowsong didn't look like she wanted to be here but Silentscream was polite. He was a good cat. Finally, those deep sea green eyes of the Leader left the two cats and were back on the water. "Nice day for hunting?" he asked and looked back at the cats, his eyes full of interest. A smile was that? Oh yes. It was. Mythstar was smiling for the first time in a long time. "Or are you spying on me?" He let out a soft chuckle.

A small smile creased the corners of Silentscream's mouth, but beside him Sorrowsong seemed taken aback. She opened her mouth as if to spit something back at the Leader, but a rare angered look from the mute tom silenced her. She forced a sour smile and blinked at Mythstar. Of course not. We didn't know you were here! Too nice. Silentsceam sighed, turning his head away as his auds flattened.

This was why he liked Silentscream so much. He had found out why. The mute tom knew how to control his mother. He could see that Sorrowsong was quite found of his joke. She seemed to take it seriously. The other thing that he didn`t like about her was the sour smile she gave him. He could see that she didn't like him. She didn`t want him as Leader. It seemed no one did.
Mythstar narrowed his eyes coldly at Sorrowsong and glared at her for the longest time before he stood from his sitting position and blinked a few times. "Well, I think I`ll keep moving down the river and doing something to help the Clan," he hissed and whipped around to face the other way. His glare cold with anger. Why did everyone thing he wasn`t a good leader? He hated everyone thinking that he wasn`t.

A stunned silence filled Silentscream's eyes, turning into guilt. He hung his head, about to turn away himself, when Sorrowsong sighed. I suppose I shouldn't have done that. Please do't go away, my son thinks you're the greatest cat alive. Her words came uneasily, and the 'please' sounced cracked and unwelcome, but it was the words that counted. Silentscream stood taller, seeming to blosom in his mother's stern, yet loving, gaze. Almost instantly, she turned back to Mythstar. Ignore what the others think. They aren't even sure of themselves most of the time. She let out a small purr, barely audible but surely there.

A wave of guilt washed over the large leader`s face as he heard Sorrowsong speak. At first, he thought she would be angry at him but she was not mad. Mythstar had actually never heard Sorrowsong talk that nicely to him. Ever. But then again, the leader was always open for first times. He turned around to face the two cats, his eyes were glowing with great gratitude when he heard what Silentscream really thought of him. At least there was someone that respected him. And being the greatest cat in the world was a first for him. The leader had never been the 'greatest cat in the world' but it sure felt good to be one.
What Sorrowsong said next really startled Mythstar. He had never known that strict cat could ever say words that would mean a lot to him. She was right. What was he thinking? Be whatever leader you can be and do not let what others think though you off your course. It was when she purred, that he knew that she was a different cat than what he thought. He smiled and nodded. "I suppose you are right," he admitted .

Silentscream looked up proudly at his mother. She seemed to change in a way, just for special people. His bright eyes flicked back to Mythstar, and a shy smile crept onto his face. The mute nodded to himself. Yes, Mythstar seemed to be worth his mother's happiness.
Sorrowsong's pale orange fur rippled as she moved, stepping away from her son. She stood a ways behind Mythstar. The purr continued, as if it belonged to a cat that had never given a harsh word in her life. Surveying the tundra before her, a thought came into her mind. What if he really is the great leader Silentscream makes him out to be? She smiled, lowering her head.

ooc; Wait, I'm confused. Why did she step behind Mythstar when he is facing them?

ooc; Excuse me for double posting.
Sea green eyes followed Sorrowsong's pale ginger body until his head whipped around to stare at her. She stood not too far away from where he stood. Maybe a few tail lengths but even if she was that close, it made him want to approach her and stand next to her. His bright orbs flicked back to where Silentscream stood. He stared at him for a moment with a wise gaze. But then it turned into a question stare. Could he maybe spend more time with Sorrowsong? He tilted his head to the side and turned his head back to where Sorrowsong stood. He would need someone to talk to when all the other cats would be rude to him. She would stand up for him for she was strict and had a loud voice. She would tell those cats right from wrong and never to face a Leader with such harsh words. She would be there to talk to him peacefully if he needed someone to talk to. She was pretty and had a son of her own that he could treat like his own son. Silentscream would love that so much. She would be perfect for him. If only he could tell her that now. He turned his gaze back to Silentscream, waiting for an answer.

Silentscream's head dropped, and he shuffled his paws. Mythstar was a good Leader, he was brave and kind, so why not? A smile flashed against his dark fur, and the tom peered brightly up at Mythstar. Quickly, though, it faded. His head dropped again, and he remained still, tail drooping. Quietly, he stepped towards the Leader, so they were nose-to-nose. A small, barely audible purr emitted from his scarred throat.

Mythstar watched the younger tom's actions with eyes full of interest. Being a mute probably wasn't easy for Silentscream. The pour guy had been through a lot. He was lucky to be alive this day. Finally, he moved toward the Leader until his green irises could stare no longer. He blinked and thats when he heard the purr. He hadn't heard and purr from this cat for a long time. He hadn't heard anything from this tom for a long time and when he did he nodded and licked Silentscream gently between the ears.
Slowly, the cream colored leader turned around to face Sorrowsong. He felt almost nervous but he knew he shouldn't feel that way. This was Sorrowsong, not a Leader from another Clan. Finally, he gathered up the courage to walk up to her from the back. He tried to make no noise that would startle her but he had a feeling that she already knew that he was coming. His sea green orbs twinkled as he finally looked over at Sorrowsong. His gaze was soft and a slight purr escaped his lips. He hoped she would understand what he meant...

Sorrowsong's pale fur gleamed as she turned her head. The she-cat's dull eyes seemed to brighten, and her tail curled around her paws as she sat. The soft purr reached her scarred auds, and she looked away, neck fur prickling. Her yellow orbs studied the ground, not making eye-contact with Mythstar. The skin beneath her orange pelt grew hot, and she fidgeted uncontrollably. She twisted around, shifting her position to watch her son. Silentscream was walking away, hard pads making no sound on the soft ground. His head was dropped, bright orbs shadowed, and a smile on his face. Reluctantly, Sorrowsong turned back to the Leader, and let out a small purr.
