Clawwind tossed and turned in his sleep. He was dreaming. "ShadowClan Filth!" one warrior was screaming at him. "Get that worthless peice of Foxdung out of here!" spat another. The ThunderClan cats circled him, spitting and yowling. "Leave! You aren't wanted here!" growled a dark tabby. Clawwind croutched lower to the ground, trembling. He was only a kit, he wouldn't be able to defend himself against these warriors. He stared up horrified into the Warriors' eyes. In them, he could only see hatred. Clawwind woke up. He was shaking. That had been no ordinary dream. That was his past. The warriors who had not wanted him in ThunderClan. As a kit, he had hidden with his adopted mother, away from his haters. Why the warrior was remembering this now was beyond him. He stood up shakily, and stretched. He gave his ruffled fur a few licks, then looked around.

ooc: This is my first RP post! Hope you don't mind me joining.
ic: Sunsetfur's eyes blinked open drowsily as she heard frantic rustling and scrambling near her. Slowly looking around, she watched Clawwind for a moment or two before standing up. She absentmindedly gave her golden chest fur a couple of hurried, careless licks and drew one of her forepaws over her left ear a couple times. The fire-pelted she-cat rose quietly and padded across the soft, leaf-littered floor of the warriors' den and sat down again a few tail-lengths away from Clawwind.
"Are you alright?" She meowed awkwardly. "Were you dreaming?"

Embarassed, Clawwind spoke quickly, "Oh, yes, sorry. Did I wake you?" The tabby warrior was still shaking slightly. He tried to steady himself, but only managed to trip himself. Clawwind toppled over. Luckily he did not land on any other cat. "Oops!" he mewed quickly. His fur became hot. All he'd managed to do this morning was embarass himself. He sighed, and stood up slowly. His ears twitched slightly, as he looked back at Sunsetfur.

Sunsetfur bit back a bout of laughter and succeeded in stabbing her tongue with her teeth. Tasting tiny droplets of blood in her mouth, she gasped, "Ugh...erm - no, you didn't wake me. I wake up early most days."
The fire-pelted she-cat ground her teeth together in annoyance at the salty scarlet drops that still leaked into her mouth. Shaking her head slightly, she hesitantly asked, "What were you dreaming about, if you don't mind my asking? I haven't ever seen any cat do that in his sleep before." Uncertain concern flickered in her eyes.

Clawwind looked deep into Sunsetfur's eyes and whispered, "My past." he did not know what else to say. The dream was coming back to him now, as real as if the cats were right in front of him, tawnting him. Clawwind shook his head to rid himself of these memories. "When I was an apprentice, they would talk about me. Not always behind my back; sometimes they would come up to me and tell that I was ShadowClan f-filth." He stumbled on the last word. He had been born in ShadowClan. His mother died, and there were no other queens, so he had been taken to WindClan. Clawwind did not like it when other cats were rude to ShadowClan. Clawwind really respected ShadowClan. They had given up their kit, so that he could survive.

Sunsetfur blinked. A twinging in her stomach told her that she was going too far. "Well..." she meowed. "I'm sorry, Clawwind. Whatever your past was, it's behind you now. We can't change who we are, no more than we can alter the paws of fate or move the stars."
The fire-pelted she-cat cast her gaze down low, feeling more embarrassed than ever. "They'll forget it, eventually. You're a WindClan cat now - even if you still feel bound to your birth Clan. They'll have to learn to respect you...it just takes time."
Inwardly, Sunsetfur growled at herself. Her thought were spilling out of her head and through her jaws again in an unstoppable tide. As usual.

Clawwind manageed to give her a faint smile. She had spoken truthfully, "Thanks Sunsetfur, I guess you're right..." Time truly is the best healer the tabby reflected. He stretched his long limbs. "It was a while ago though, I haven't heard the insults for a while now..." Why they came back to me in dreams now is beyond me... he thought with a sinking feeling. He poked his head out of the Warriors den. The sun was just beginning to rise, casting pale light around the camp. "Well, I'm going hunting." Clawwind murmured. "Do-Do you want to come?" he stammered.

Sunsetfur peered up out of the den entrance. The shadowed trees rustled in a soft morning wind, ruffling the dew-laden leaves. Droplets glistened and caught the light of the sunrise, which was creeping over the sooty horizon line, spreading pale swirls of gold, blue, and rosy pink. A sparrow trilled a tune from somewhere far away.
It's beautiful, thought the she-cat, flexing her hind legs.
"I'd love to," Sunsetfur meowed happily, excited at the thought of being the first to travel through the dawn woods, still and untouched by cats.
She rose from her paws and padded out towards the entrance. She stopped as a watery beam of sunlight gently touched her cheek. Smiling, she inclined her head slightly and swooped her gaze back onto Clawwind. "Coming?"

Clawwind raced after Sunsetfur. His pelt felt nice and warm in the dawn sunlight. He could not wait to be racing through the fields. He longed to catch a rabbit or a nice plump mouse.
(ooc. Sorry, that was pretty short. I'm not thinking right today. lol. Should we go to a different board now?)
