Cloverleaf sat in some bushes. She often came here just to be alone. Her Clanmates realy came here and she could be alone. Though today, she wished there was someone to talk to. She watched the Thudnerpath, no monsters ever crossed it.

Needlepatch thought she smelt a cat in the bushes and entered quietly to see Cloverleaf. "Hello Cloverleaf," Needlepatch said cheerfully trying not to suprise Cloverleaf by her sudden appearance. "What are you doing all by yourself?" Needlepatch questioned hoping she hadn't bothered Cloverleaf by intruding her time alone.

Cloverleaf jumped just a little at hearing Nettlepatches voice. "Oh, hello Nettlepatch," Clover meowed nicely. She stood up and streched her legs from any stiffness that had come to them. She shoock out her brown paws and tail. "I was just looking around. Sometimes it's nice to get some quiet from all the Clan," she purred. Then she relized she may have hurt Nettlepatches feelings and made her feel unwelcome. "Not that it isn't nice to have someone to talk with." she covered quickly. She added this part in very fast after her first stament, trying to make it sound as though she ment to say it all along. Cloverleaf walked a little ways away from the old, unused Thunderpath. THough she wasn't very close, and it was never used, it still gave her a weird feeling. "What are you doing out here?" she returned the question smiling.

Two sky blue eyes swerved over to the sky above. A single she-cat padded through the woods, a long creamy furred tail waving from side to side in the air, like a light of pale fire. Her paws set gingerly on the path, lightly as if she was stalking prey. However, the relaxation and the warmth in her pale eyes betrayed any actual urge to catch some prey. She was just out for a morning stroll, pausing to sniff a flower or two in interest. Delicately leaping onto an old log, the she-cat twisted her head when she heard the sound of voices. Cloudheart's soft ears perked up. It sounded like she-cats, Thunderclan scented. Wondering why her Clanmates were all the way over here, Cloudheart leaped off the log and headed in that direction. She padded out of the bushes like a creamy flame dancing languidly in the air. Her blue eyes caught the sight of Needlepatch and Cloverleaf and she mewed, "What are you two doing all the way out here?"

Cloverleaf again jumped at the appeareness of this new she-cat. Cloeverleaf's bark brown fur fluffed out and her tail grew twice its size. Slwoly she let her fur lay flat in its normal postion as she relized it was only Cloudheart. "Good morning Cloudheart," Cloverleaf meowed gently. She looked her up and down. Cloudheart was had very clean creamy fur. "We're just hanging out, I guess you could say." she replyed to Cloudheart's question. Cloverleaf licked her right paw quickly and wiped it across hher face. Seeing Cloudheatr's clean creamy, pretty fur made her feel dirty with her dark brown dur. AFter a couple quick swipes, she put her paw back down to the ground and looked back to Cloudheart, eying her soft fur.

Cloudheart's pale blue eyes swerved over to meet Cloverleaf's jaded gaze. The tip of her right ear twitched and a hot embarrassed flush raced down the she-cat's creamy pelt at Cloverleaf's appraising gaze. Pondering if she had something in her fur, she craned her neck to gaze up and down the pale sun-tinged pelt. Seeing no aberration in the soft long fur, Cloudheart's ears twitched curiously as she turned back to Cloverleaf. Sitting back down on her haunches and curving her thick tail around her paws, she mustered her courage and bravely but softly mewed, "Mm? Something wrong?"

Cloverleaf felt her cheeks burn with embrassment. "Oh, err, nothing. I'm just,.... staring into space." Cloverleaf quicky lied. Feeling even more self-concios (,-- Spelling?) now, she started to lick her tail. After cleaning it enough to make herself feel a little bit better, she placed it softly on the ground again, and it bleneded into the dirt on the ground. She forwned, Why can't I have pretty fur like Cloudheart?, she thought. Though she didn;t relize she was again staring at Cloudhearts creamy pelt.

Cloudheart twitched her ear again and ducked her head for a moment. Staring into space? Then it seemed Cloverleaf stared into space a lot of the time. Licking a pale paw, her blue eyes locked on Cloverleaf and grazed over the dark pelt. They were both long-furred she-cats, but while Cloudheart's pelt brimmed in creamy and white tones, Cloverleaf's was a dark earthen brown. Just the sight of it made her think of the woods, a feeling of security riveting from the tall trees and soft earth. It felt like home.
Allowing herself a moment of relaxation, she set her paw down and sunk onto the earth. Tucking her paws beneath her and her thick tail at her side, she averted Cloverleaf's green eyes to gaze at the sky and mewed, "Um, nice weather don't you think?"

Cloverleaf smiled and nodded. It was very nice out. The sun was shinned and its rays came down on them. There were few clouds in the sky, but just enough so that the blue sky stood out among them. "Yes, it's very nice out today," purred Cloverleaf. She made sure she stopped staring at Cloudheart's pelt, no matter out pretty it was.

Cloudheart purred softly and nodded, still gazing at the sky. Her tail waved languidly, as if it had a mind of its own. It lightly tapped Cloudheart's paws before moving over and brushing the ground ever so softly. Feeling it catch dirt, the she-cat paused and leaned down to give it a few quick strokes. Rising to her paws and stretching, her pale gaze settled on Cloverleaf, "So what are you doing all the way out here? Nice day for a stroll, but why the Thunderpath? I'd thought it best to go by the lake. I mean, after all the things the Clans have been through, I'd want nothing to do with a Twoleg. Or any of their strange things."

Cloverleaf understood Cloudheart's thoughts. "Well, everyone says this Thunderpath isn;t used, I just want to make sure it isn't. You know? What if one of the Clans apprentices thought it wasn't used and was crossing, and then a monster came. I only want others to be safe." Cloverleaf explained. Cloverleaf stood for a moment to strech out her legs whch were growing stiff.

Needlepatch having been silent through out the whole conversation felt slightly shy about joining the conversation but none the less she spoke up. "I know what you mean. I have come down here for that same reason a couple of times but this time I didn't really mean to come here. I was just wondering, lost in thought when I came upon Cloverleaf. Anyway, what are you doing out here Cloudheart?” Needlepatch asked curiously.

Cloverleaf nodded at what Nettlepatch had said. She then licked her soft muzzle quickly. After that she looked to Cloudheart for the answer to Nettlepatch's question.

Cloudheart jumped slightly, fur bristling as her earlier timidness came back. Being put suddenly on the spotlight was never something she had thoroughly enjoyed. Paws fiddling in the ground, she watched her smooth tail waved back and forth as she answered, blue eyes swirling with lost thought, "Just passing by really. I was out for a stroll since I had no duties to attend to. That's when I heard voices, yours. I came to investigate. For a minute I thought it had been Shadowclan trying a trick."

Needlepatch nodded and stared in the direction of the ShadowClan border her thoughts drifting away. Times were hard now and sometimes she felt as though she had lost her cheerful spirit. Clan life had been honorable and rewarding, but with the death of so many cats lately Needlepatch tended to doubt such things. She would never leave her clan in their time of need but she could never stop wondering when this would come to an end or when peace would return to the four clans. Needlepatch couldn't bear to think of how many cats would join the ranks of StarClan in their next battle. It had to stop.
