The brown tom walked over to the fresh-kill pile. The young apprentice had already taken a piece of fresh-kill for himself, and decided he would take some more, not like anyone would notice. Tornadopaw leaned over to take a piece of prey.

Spottedstump was seated nearby. She noticed that Tornadopaw had already taken more than his fair share of food. She padded over. "Hey," she meowed, "You've already eaten. Prey is scarce in Leaf-bare. Leave some for the rest of us until you've gone hunting." She didn't want to be so harsh, but what she had said was true. She looked sadly at the apprentice, "sorry," she mewed. "You must be starving."

Tornadopaw was surprised when Spottedstump came over. He listened to her, setting the prey down lightly. He looked down like he felt bad, when he was really mad at the cat for catching him. After the she-cat had finished, he replied with, "I'm sorry. You're right. I'm just not good at hunting, I've only tried once." Though Tornadopaw wasn't a bad hunting, it was true that he had only tried once. He curled his brown tail around his paws, and looked at up Spottedstump, sadness in his eyes.

Spottedstump felt really bad for him. "Do you want to go hunting now?" she asked. "I could help you." She wanted to do the best for the Clan, but she could see how hungry that the apprentice was. Her own stomach growled with hunger. It was a rough Leaf-Bare.

Tornadopaw looked down. Though he smirked, Spottedstump wouldn't be able to see. "I don't think you can. My mentor is supposed to take me, isn't he?" he meowed in the sad voice still. He was still very hungry, and his ribs shown through his light brown fur. The apprentice hadn't eaten a lot the past few days.

"I- I don't know," meowed Spottedstump. A gust of wind ruffled her tortoiseshell fur. She shivered, and kneaded the ground with her paws. She flicked her tail back and forth. (ooc: who's your mentor?)

Tornadopaw coughed and then meowed "I guess if no one knew, you could take me out, right?" he meowed, looking up at the she-cat.

Spottedstump shrugged, then meowed, "sure. We could go hunting. The Clan could always use more fresh-kill." She rose to her paws and stretched. She flicked her tail, then meowed, "Let's go." She trotted off toward the camp entrace.

Tornadopaw smiled. Finaly, a chance to get out of camp! He dashed to Spottedstupoms side, tail waving.

Spottedstump trotted briskly out of camp. She hadn't been hunting today, and could use with some fresh-kill. Not to mention that Tornadopaw would be entertained as well. She smiled, and shook her head. "Where should we go?" she asked.

Thinking quickly, Tornadoppaw suggested the river. It was one of his favorite places.
