h a i l s t o r m - t c His heart was pumping adrenaline through his veins so fast, his very blood seemed to beat hit inside his body. The broad shouldered smoky tom's pelt beat hot, but inside, he was beyond cold. There was a certain amount of gelidity in his presence, and his mind was screaming in protest. Protest in everything. And beneath the icy surface, was pure shock. Shock at what he had just learned. True, unalloyed shock. Hailstorm's life had been absolutely perfect. His mate was expecting kits, even though she was a Clan leader. They would have worked through it. Would have... If it hadn't all been a scam.
Shock turned to absolute agonizing loathing. A gale of exacerbating anger settled in, rage at what he had just learned. Hailstorm. ThunderClan deputy. Strong warrior. Trusted friend. Fierce fighter. On the outside, he appeared to be a very respected member of the Clan, but now, he had learned that she was taking advantage of him. Deceiving him. Would he always just be the little kit, the one that was shunted to the side, time and time again? Hadn't he seen all the signs that nothing was going right with his mate? But this... what he had learned, it was too much. How she had used him as an excuse... to hide the real father of her kits. How she had been so cruel as to not even feel guilted into spilling the truth, the fumy tom didn't know.
His apple green eyes found her pale cerulean ones, as he stared into the latter, he noticed that something in their depths seemed to have disappeared. A familiar glow or a bright warm shine, whatever it was, it was gone. Leaving them cold and empty. Cruel. Capable of the terrible things that she claimed she'd done. Before he knew what he'd done, Hailstorm had lost control. This was just too much. She had taken it too far. He was on his paws in one split second, his spine curved, causing his fur to bristle. Tail lashing, the large tom dug his milky white claws into the soft grassy green ground. He looked around. This, wasn't his mate. These, weren't his kittens. It was all an illusion. A sick adventure, all for her protection and amusement. Pure abhorrence of the she - cat that stood before him, her sere fur glimmering, engulfed him.
And all he could do was scream. "YOU! HOW COULD YOU? LEADING ME ALONG LIKE THAT, I THOUGHT IT WAS REAL! I THOUGHT EVERYTHING WAS REAL! BUT YOU LIED! YOU KEPT IT ALL FROM ME! SO, WHO'RE YOU TELLING ME NOW? WHAT HAVE I DONE DIFFERENT THAT MAKES YOU THINK I DESERVE THE TRUTH NOW?" But beneath the disgust and the hate... there was a strong wish for a shard of hope. He still loved her.

[ d r e a m frost ♥ thunder c l a n ] It was hard . Unbelievably difficult to listen to one of her closest friends scream these accusations at her . And what made it more challenging still , was that they were very true . "YOU! HOW COULD YOU? LEADING ME ALONG LIKE THAT, I THOUGHT IT WAS REAL! I THOUGHT EVERYTHING WAS REAL!" She flinched away from his voice , using her leg to inch her kittens closer to her . "BUT YOU LIED! YOU KEPT IT ALL FROM ME! SO, WHO'RE YOU TELLING ME NOW? WHAT HAVE I DONE DIFFERENT THAT MAKES YOU THINK I DESERVE THE TRUTH NOW?" But as supposed to guilting the silvery coated femme , these words enraged her .
Denial had made it`s move . She uncurled herself slowly from her offspring , and moved slowly toward the broad shouldered tom . Mist had unfurled itself in her mind . How could he say such things ? It`s not like he even had the whole story . "It`s not like YOU understand ! You have NO IDEA what I had to go through and the decisions that I had to make ."
But the argent queen knew that she was wrong . She knew that what she had done had been horribly excruciating for the deputy , emotionally and physically . And guilt engulfed her , anger exploded inside her . Anger at herself . But she refused to show it . Repeating over and over in her head , It`s not my fault ! "I CAN`T BELIEVE YOU`D JUST COME IN HERE AND BLAME ME FOR ALL OF THIS !" As if her sudden outburst had tired her greatly , Dreamfrost sank back down to a sitting position . She felt exasperated , at herself . She didn`t want the smoky black tom to be angry with her any more . But she knew that was impossible .
A sudden sadness came over her . Dreamfrost had always known what she was doing . But she had no idea that it would have this much impact . That it would cause this much pain . She spoke quietly , almost just to herself . "I`m so sorry , I can`t believe I could`ve .. just .. I know it was wrong . I know ! I know how at fault I am . It was a twisted thing to do , and I can`t even think about how I could make this right . I`m leaving , Hailstorm . And you`re our deputy . You`re going to have to take my place when I`m gone . And .. and I`m going now ." She dipped her head , and turned back to her kits . Curling herself around them once more , she avoided Hailstorms apple green gaze , fixing her icy cerulean irises on the grassy floor in front of her .
And acceptance never came .

h a i l s t o r m - t c Anger flared through the smoky black tom's veins. Pulsating, burning anger. Her shrill voice rang through his ears, infuriating him right to his very core. Apple green irises scorching through her pelt. "It's not like YOU understand! You have NO IDEA what I had to go through and the decisions that I had to make." He narrowed his eyes and bared his teeth threateningly at her. How could she dare blame him right now. How dare she deny this. If he had cared so much to do so, Hailstorm would have been able to detect a trace of guilt in the young she-cat's voice, but at the moment, he was too preoccupied. But before the smoky tom could open his jaws for a retort, Dreamfrost had spoken again.
"I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'D JUST COME IN HERE AND BLAME ME FOR ALL OF THIS!" Anger flashed before his eyes. Blood red, bright, piercing anger. "WHAT?!" He roared, taking a threatening step closer to her. His mind was a whirlwind of agonizing color and sound. He just couldn't make sense of it all, no matter how hard he tried. So Dreamfrost thought it suitable to turn this situation around on him? To make him take all the blame? He had done nothing, nothing wrong. The light furred femme didn't seem to have heard his voice, as she had sat back down, something different showing in her presence. Was it weakness?
Though Hailstorm loomed over her menacingly, the queen spoke in a much quieter voice than before. She seemed broken. Ashamed. "I'm so sorry, I can't believe I could've... just... I know it was wrong." He snorted arrogantly as she paused, His apple green orbs boring down on her. "I know! I know how at fault I am. It was a twisted thing to do, and I can't even think about how I could make this right." He let out a mirthless laugh, and smiled very fake at her. "You can't." He added bluntly.
"I'm leaving, Hailstorm. And you're our deputy. You're going to have to take my place when I'm gone. And... and I'm going now." This news did not come as a shock to the big black tom, as he had already heard it earlier. But his reaction was very different this time around. When he had first heard the news, the inky tom had wished direly for her to stay. But now, he remained cool, calm, and icy. Arrogant. "Well Dreamfrost, you've already done enough damage here, so I suggest you get out now." He resisted the temptation to rake his claws down the nose of the she-cat he loved. She had torn him beyond repair, and there was nothing more that he could do. The thought of his new coming leadership never even crossed his mind. He was too damaged. "You'll never stop hurting me, no matter how long you're gone for. Never." And he turned tail, and left the nursery. It felt like he was leaving behind all that he had ever cared about. Forever.
And in a way, he was.
