The sun was a mere speck in the sky, shining feebly down upon the world as the cloak of night melted away. The clouds shrank back to let the sun through, its glorious flaming face giving off a warm and bright glow. As it threw light down upon the ThunderClan camp, the shadows crept back to dissolve into the trees, and all if a sudden, the wotld exploded in light.
Bubblepaw moaned and turned over in her sleep. Her mouth was slightly open, showing her little pink tongue and sharp, pearly white teeth. Her tail thrashed from side to side, and her limbs twitched as she rolled over onto her back. A bar of light beat upon her closed eyelids, and they lifted to how her brilliantly blue eyes. With a squeak, she jumped to her paws.
Bubblepaw looked around self consciously. She was eleven moons old now; she should've stopped hving nightmares at four. Sighing, the apprentice lickd her paw and drew it over her sweaty face. She then shook herself, and looked about her for something to do. Was anyone else awake...? |

Grayshadow peered around and looked into the apprentice den. He saw a figure twitching. He decided to see if anything was wrong. "Hey there, apprentice. You alright?"

Bubblepaw looked u indignantly as Greyshadow entered the apprentices' den. She looked icily at the warrior for a moment, then, remembering she was a mere apprentice and he a warrior, dipped her head respectfully. "It's Bubblepaw," she mewed. "I'm fine, thankyou." |

Grayshadow raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure? You didn't look fine from where I was standing." his blue eyes shining from the moonlight. "Name's Grayshadow by the way."

Bubblepaw stretched her legs out. "I just had a bad dream, that's all," she mewed. "Nothing else." The apprentice sighed. She was old enough to stop having these silly dreams now. But they hadn't stopped; they had got worse.. |

Grayshadow smiled, "Been there done that. Care to tell me? If you want..." he narrowed his eyes as he thought of the dreams that haunted him.

Bubblepaw squinted at Greyshadow, her blue eyes doubtful. She sighed and sat down, flicking her taikl slowly from side to side. "Well.." she looked away. "They're about.. A lot of things." The apprentice blinked at the ground, then looked up at Greyshadow. "My parents, mostly," she looked away again as a tear slipped down her cheek. "They're.. They're dead." |

Grayshadow pricked his ears. "Really? I'm sorry. My parents are dead too. Killed by rouges..." he growled as he thought of the bloody face of the rouge who killed his parents. He opened his mouth and closed it again unable to speak. He moved closer and licked her ear in comfort.

Bubblepaw's ears drooped. "Really?" The white she-cat shied away at first from the tom, but as he comforted her she relaxed. Here was a cat who knew her pain, a cat she could talk to. Everyone else seemed to hate her or think she was worthless. She sighed, feeling useless and as young as a tiny kitten. |

Bubblepaw looked at her paws. "Mine died when I was a kit." She sighed. She was ready to be a warrior now. Why wasn't Dreamstar making her one? She kneaded the earth with her paws impatiently. Was it because she ws... Small? Because she was smaller than the others? Her eyes narrowed as she thought this. Why did he have to be so small! She cried out loud in the unfairness. No one seemed to like her either - why was StarClan against her...? |

Grayshadow closed his eyes. "That's so wrong." He noticed Bubblepaw's expression. "Now what's wrong?"

Bubblepaw shut her eyes. "Why is everyone else better than me? she whispered. She opened her eyes, now filled with tears. "My parents allways liked my brothers and sister better than me. I was the smallest. The runt. I'll always be the runt." She ended sadly. |
