StarClan's Will

Long ago, before even LionClan, TigerClan and LeopardClan, there were three ancient Clans, named after the fierce birds of prey. EagleClan was the forest hunters, with their excellent stalking techniques. SparrowClan was the swimmers. Their pelts shed water as easily as a holly leaf. FalconClan was the master of the moorland. They ran as fast as the wind, and nothing could catch them, except perhaps the wind itself. And the fourth Clan, StarClan, ruled over them all.

Seasons and seasons passed by, and still, the three Clans lived relatively peacefully. But then, EagleClan began to take over the rest of the Clans’ territories, under the rule of Darkstar. It was a lawless and bloody time for the forest, because many innocents died under the claws of Darkstar and his powerful warriors. But then, a few moons ago, a powerful young she-cat drove Darkstar out of EagleClan. He died along with many of his warriors in exile.

However, still something remains in EagleClan. His bloodline, two kits, borne of the EagleClan queen, Lionfur, live in the nursery. Darkstar had made sure that he would surely not be forgotten. The young she-cat that had driven Darkstar out became leader, and under her careful rule, EagleClan became the most peaceful of the Clans. However, she still felt uneasy about the two kits that carried the bloodline of one of the most terrible cats the Clans had produced.

Now, the young she-cat, Featherstar, leads EagleClan. But what has StarClan prepared for the young leader? A prophecy, in StarClan’s own cryptic language.

Before there can be peace,
Split will blood be
And only then,
Will the meaning of this prophecy,
Be revealed to thee
