When this one dies..........Who'll be there for my loved ones?
Many pads hit the ground. Pillars rotate swiftly. Pants and barks can be heard. Clashing of the sleds can be seen. You're the lead, your the dogs that leads the others. " Whoa!" you're humans calls out to you. One of yours is injured. Time to stop. The others slow down and stop. The passing team moves on and on. Leaving you in the snow dust.....
This is Alaska. The Iditarod is the biggest sled dog race in the world and you were just running in it. This is Nome, Alaska, where they start the race, and also end it.
The wolves stalk the shadows of the forest, running alongside the sled races, laughing in your faces. They chant to you " Pathetic dogs! Working for humans huh?" they taunt and tease. The bobcats and lynxes cause you to chase them to get you lost. They're not on your side, they never will be.
Which side will you choose? Wolves? Bobcats? Humans? Or dogs perhaps?
