This was a poem I wrote for a school project...lemme know what you think.
"River Song"
Dawn, and I am waking
Catching the rosy hues of amber and blue in my waters
Holding them close before releasing them into the endless sky
And I become the dawn, the quiet dawn of the day
Morning, and I am hurrying
Tumbling brightly through reeds and the flowers of spring
The sun is dropping its golden fingers into my silvery depths
And I become the morning, the sunlit morning of the day
Afternoon, and I am rushing
Through the fields and valleys, the hills and forests
Under the feathery clouds and the wheeling birds overhead
And I become the afternoon, the sunny afternoon of the day
Sunset, and I am dancing
Sparkling in delight at the thousand colors of the sky
I capture the blazing glory of the dying sun on my ever-changing surface
And I become the sunset, the fiery sunset of the day
Twilight, and I am flowing
Tirelessly traveling to unfathomable places unknown
The sky is dimmed with gray and pale violet
And I become the twilight, the silver twilight of the day
Nightfall, and I am whispering
Songs of the shadows to the drowsy river-stones beneath me
Dusky darkness engulfs the land, drifting into my waters too
And I become the nightfall, the shaded nightfall of the day
Moonrise, and I am sleeping
Dark river-dreams are flitting in the water
As the pale circle of the moon is shattered on my surface
And I become the moonrise, the gleaming moonrise of the day
Midnight, and I am dreaming
Of water-birds and otters, cattails and fair water lilies
The infinite stars are reflected on my gleaming surface
And I become the midnight, the peaceful midnight of the day
Dawn, and the sun is rising again
Awaken, drowsy world, to greet the daylight
I am laughing in the light, skipping along my river-path
Through the willows, as if nothing can stop me
And I become the day, the day that I reflect in my waters
The infinite cycle of life and light, the light of the day
