Name_» Rivensoul Gender_» Female Rank_» Warrior Clan_» Riverclan Description_»
Riven is normally seen as an atypically small feline. Her thick, pearl-grey coat is sleek during the summer months, but thickens up during the winter to cascade around her small paws and delicate face. Without any abnormal markings throughout her pelt, Riven is still easily distinguishable by her small frame and her peculiar gait. She will always count between each stride -- every four steps, wait one second, then repeat. Running is much of the same way. Her eyes are dark and often mysterious, constantly swarming with deep thoughts and inquiry of her surroundings. They're a deep shade of leaden blue-green, changing often to the hues of the sky, trees, or weather.

As hinted in the description, Riven is obsessive-compulsive. Things must be stable, organized, and unchanging for her to be fully content. She actually realizes her problem with it, driving her insane at times because she can't cure it herself. Her abnormal behavoir results in her lack of friends within her clanmates, leaving her alone and misunderstood. Because of this, she spends a lot of time wandering around the territory by herself. Riven really doesn't mind all the time to herself, although it lets her mind wander far too much. She is very intelligent and hard working when absolutely necessary, but for the most part she remains indolent because of her mind's complusivity. Overall, Rivensoul is an obsessive, isolated, yet observant young she-cat who is relentlessly lost in life; she desperately needs some sort of guide at this point.
History_»
'Horribly exhausted' had to be the only way to describe Rivensoul at the time. It was a hard day of training and hunting, and honestly, she was getting sick of the repetition. But it was no matter, she knew she would become a warrior sometime soon...well, she had thought she knew many things at the time. A change of fate isn't always easy, of course...especially when this change happens to the people surrounding you, the ones you love...resulting in your loss.
The sun went down peculiarly early that night, and the moon shone a shade you could hardly call perceptible. Perhaps it was due to the clouds that were out...the whole day hadn't been very sunny in the first place. Either way, Riven was just about ready to drop to the damp ground and fall deep into a slumber for as long as she possibly could. That was, until her stomach did that empty roar; how had she forgotten to eat? Padding to the withered fresh-kill pile, she vaguely noticed the silence that struck throughout the camp. It was unfortunate how drained she was at the time, for her tainted senses might have found it to be suspicious.
A shriek broke the unnerving silence as Riven finished up her meal. Her ears perked high, and despite her low energy, she quickly rose and ran over to the warrior's den, where she had heard the shrill yelp. A sudden silence crept across the clearing as a shadow emerged from the den. It was hard for her weary eyes to follow, but she somehow managed to track its movements as it slyly slipped out of the camp. Another feline, a tom, was just approaching the clearing. The scent was familiar; very familiar. Her fatigued mind grasped it -- the tom was her father. The shadowed figure of the other cat stopped in its tracks as Riven's father came into view. Disbelief infected her thoughts as the shadow rapidly pounced and took him to the ground, ignorant and helpless. It all happened so fast, neither Riven nor her father could utter a sound. The shadow let out a hiss as it continued its path out of the camp once again. The very last thing she heard from that horrible being was an unclear mutter behind his breath...something about time. A wrong time at the wrong place...no, wrong place at the wrong time...
His body was lying there, limp. She approached her father cautiously, but quickly realized it was too late -- his death happened the very second the shadowed cat had attacked him. Her legs began to quiver, her mind went blank, and her mouth let out a pitiful yelp as she collapsed next to his cold body.
Only seven moons since that night did she stand in that very place. Still quivering, she let her mind wander to that painful memory; that night her mother and father were murdered. By whom, no one figured out...and this left Riven cautious, paranoid, and compulsive to keep herself safe. With her parents gone and no brothers or sisters, she lived a lone life. Lost and torn she would remain...that is, until a new chapter of her young life unfolds.
IC_»
The early morning sun shone brightly across the sky, creating somewhat of a watercolor effect. Rivensoul wasn't normally so fond of the sunrise; it was just the signal to go on with life. A new day seemed relieving to most, but for Riven it was quite the opposite. Starting a new day was just another example of the changing world...something she disliked greatly. Change of anything, really, meant she had to almost 'reformat' her mindset, along with the way she usually handled things. It practically made her panic just thinking about it...
