Name: Coalpaw (Coalsong).
Gender: Tom.
Rank: Apprentice.
Clan: RiverClan.
Description: Coalpaw is considered to be the color of a shadow
in the middle of the night. His coat blends in perfectly with dark
surroundings, which has scared some cats that included both of
his parents and siblings. To match his spooky color, Coalpaw's
legs are unusually long; made for running. Although long, they
are well-proportioned to match Ashpaw's stealthy body.
Ashpaw's eyes are a dull yellow, but if the moon hits at the right
angle, they practically glow. However, this has rarely happened. To
continue on with his fur, Ashpaw has medium length-ed fur. During
all seasons, it absorbs as much light as possible due to the dark
pigment.
Other: He is eight moons old.

Personality: Ever since birth, Coalpaw has been a caring and stern cat.
He gets annoyed easily if somebody doesn't do what they are told
at the same moment they are told. However, he doesn't do what he
is told the very moment it is said. Besides this fact, Coalpaw isn't very
social and might never be. Ever since his father was killed, Coalpaw has
been snappy, off-key, bossy, and rude. He doesn't know he is being
rude, for he thinks he could do worse. That, to be clear, is mostly
around toms and not she-cats.
Coalpaw is over-protective of close friends and won't let them get hurt.
If one does get hurt, well, the cat who decide to do so might not have
an ear left. The tom will get into fights, and has regretted many of them.
History: As a kit, Coalpaw wasn't popular. He never got enough milk from
his mother and he never got the best place to sleep (even when it was his
turn, if he even had one that is). When he finally became an apprentice,
Coalpaw was told about his heritage and why he was basically hated. Since
his coat was pure black, his mother, father, and two siblings had thought
him to be a sort of evil- just like his father. His father cared for him more
than his mother, but Coalpaw was still shunned away from the family.
After a month, Coalpaw went off on his own and came upon a rouge who
told him about his family. The young tom had learned that his father
had once been a mass-murderer, his mother a superstitious kittypet.
Both thought to be fierce warriors. They both believed, sadly, that
black cats were bad. After the rouge finished his story, one which
Coalpaw believed, the rouge told him to kill his family. The young
tom agreed.
Coalpaw had slain his entire family that night, when they were asleep,
and had just finished burying them under an oak tree. He was cleaning himself
in the river, careful to wash every trace of blood off of him. He had obtained few
scratches from brambles that he was thrown into by his father. After
that night, Coalpaw thought himself to be unlucky and a stupid fool.
He's hated himself ever since, and has learned not to trust easily.
He had lived alone since the murdering, but has moved into
RiverClan, hoping to start a new life.
His secret hasn't been told, but a dream bugs him every night.
(More to come as he gets older.)
IC: A mouse squeaked under the clump of reeds, but Coalpaw made no
attempt to kill it. He had already caught two voles and one mouse, but
another wouldn't do any harm, would it? Yes and no. Yes to getting props
from his mentor, and no because then Coalpaw would be scolded by his
mentor for being late. Oh, well. Coalpaw had enough to take back. The
tom waded through the stream and landed back on the other side,
towards the camp.
