+Cold aches rippled throughout his muscles..+
Flightfoot groaned, awakening from the small nap. Stretching he could feel the achiness in his joints. "I'm going to have to spend some time changing the bed," he shook his head sighing sadly as he looked at the hay. This was his old mentor's bed, and he promised himself that he wouldn't change it ever. Grabbing some of the hay in his maw he went outside to put it somewhere. Flightfoot made several trips to get rid of some of the moss, leaving a bit incase Crescentpaw thought it was comfortable for him. He brought back some moss and started patting it out and spreading it to make a new bed.

Crescentpaw suddenly blinked his sea green eyes opened and was staring at the bright light that was stinging his eyes as it poured into the clearing. Blinking several times to get used to the light and then he lifted his head to see his wise mentor, fixing his nest. "Flightfoot?"he mewed so softly that he could barely hear himself. "Would you like me to help you with that." As he said this he stood tall and stretched his cramped legs. He didn't mind taking a little nap here and there. Actually, he liked it. As an apprentice of a warrior he would work his butt off all day long and sleep only a little at night, trying to remember all that was taught that day. He smiled and bent down to inspect the newly made nest.

+His claws scratched dangeriously at the hay that was left...+
"Flightfoot?" "Would you like me to help you with that." The blue-eyed tom looked up from his work, his claws that were carefully picking at the left hay had stopped. "No, what I'd like you to do though is go through my stock of juniper berries and make sure that they aren't old or shriveled, but anything good thats still in the shriveled ones take them and place them on a leaf," he went back to work. The siamese tom was inspecting the hay to see what went wrong. It was always so comfortable but just not long ago it started to hurt his bones. Or was he growing old? The tabby tom growled at his own little comment. "Why'll your at it, make me that poultice I made yesterday for aching joints," he added swiftly before finishing his inspecting. The hay had gone dry! All he had to do was soak it, but that would only waste precious time. Picking up the last of the hay he trotted out and retrieved new moss.

Right when Flightfoot left, Crescentpaw went straight to work. The juniper berries were near the back of the cave on a little nook that stood about a normal cat's leg length off the ground. He bent down to sniff the berries. He carefully picked out the definite old ones and set them on the ground near his paws. He then went outside of the den to find a good leaf. He spotted a leaf, picked it up, and brought it into the den. He set the shriveled ones that would work on top of the leaf but left a few for the remedy he would use for Flightfoot. After that, he crossed the den to get another leaf for a work space for the concoction that he would make. He set the berries he was using on it and then got some ragwort. With a smile that he was doing good, he began to crush the two together like he had seen Flightfoot do. When he was done, he pushed the remedy away, toward the entrance of the den before pushing the leaf with the good but shriveled berries on it near the nook.

+A faint smile crossed his maw as he admired his work.+
His blue optics caught the leaf holding the remedy he had politely asked for. Trotting over he bent his head down and took every last bit of the medicine. Flightfoot could feel it working already, with a long stretch he trotted over to the herbs. "Crescentpaw, do you remember what herbs we left off we yesterday?" the tom asked, it was just a simple test. His tail curling around his hind paws.

The gray tabby tilted his head to the side, trying to remember what Flightfoot had last said to him. "I think you were just making the joint aching remedy for your aching joints with ragwort and juniper berries,"he meowed with eyes deep in thought but then looked back up at his mentor with hopeful eyes. He smiled and set his tail over his petite paws.

+Thoughts raced as he stared hard, awaiting his answer+
"I think you were just making the joint aching remedy for your aching joints with ragwort and juniper berries," Aching joints remedy? Ah yes..it had slipped his mind. "So we left off with bellyaches? Did I teach you about mouse bile?" he asked grabbing a small stick with a mouse bile soaked moss. It smelled horrible, and it had a foul taste too.

Crescentpaw nodded briskly and watched Flightfoot with the mouse bile. He was interested in what he was doing with it. "Flightfoot,"he mewed looking up at his mentor,"I know what mouse bile is used for." His voice held almost a tad of pride in it and he looked back down at the bile. "Isn't it used to get rid of ticks?"he asked,"I've seen other apprentices with the elders doing it. I never got a chance though." He frowned and sighed but it was then that something else caught his attention outside of the Medicine Cat's den.
A badly bleeding tabby tom stood outside the Medicine Cat den. His eyes were full of pain but then love at the same time. His neck was the thing that was bleeding. It was badly cut and the smell of fox was strong. Brokensoul padded slowly up to the den and after a long pause of hard breathing, he managed to meow,"Flightfoot! Brightflame and I are badly injured. Can you help us?" He knew it was a bad question but he couldn't exactly think straight for the loss of blood was making him dizzy and tired. He suddenly sat down and stared at the ground with eyes full of pain.

Brightflame trudged after him, tail down, and limping badly. She collapsed by Brokensoul, coughing, and gasping for air. They had walked for a long time, trying to reach camp. Her shoulder hurt so much now, that Brightflame could barely keep back cries of pain. "Please Flightfoot," she croaked. She leaned her head against Brokensoul's flank. Her breathing was fast, her heart pounded loudly, hurting her head. She hissed. Her ginger fur was stained with the crimson blood.

+He set the mouse bile down and twitched his ears.+
"Flightfoot," "I know what mouse bile is used for." "Isn't it used to get rid of ticks?" "I've seen other apprentices with the elders doing it. I never got a chance though." Flightfoot gave a curt nod of his head. "Yes it is, good you knew that one," he carefully neatened the mouse bile with the tip of his tail. "Remind me to wash it, always wash your paws if you use it, and never taste it, horrible stuff," he spat. ,"Flightfoot! Brightflame and I are badly injured. Can you help us?" His baby blue optics shot up to the warrior. Quickly he grabbed cobwebs, poppy seeds, and marigold. "Please Flightfoot," "Crescentpaw take some cobwebs and work on Brightflame, give her some poppy seeds and marigold it will stop the infection like I taught you," he meowed taking a wad of cobwebs and pressed them hard against the neck wound. With his other paw he held up two seeds. "Take them, I'll give you some juniper berries to help your breathing," he meowed flicking the marigold over a bit with the part just below the tip of his tail. He wouldn't want the warrior to taste mouse bile on it. Quickly he took the paw that was holding the cobwebs and pawed two juniper berries over.

+OOC+ Flightfoot is treating Brokensoul, and he told Crescentpaw to treat Brightflame. Does that make sense now? +

ooc; Uhh... Sort of...
Brokensoul let out a low growl as Flightfoot pushed the cobwebs into his neck. He could feel his heart pounding in his neck and his eyes blazed with anger and pain. "Do you have to be that hard!?"he hissed and unsheathed his claw before digging it into the ground. But seeing that Flightfoot held up poppy seeds, he snatched them up and swallowed him quickly.
Crescentpaw nodded and took the cobwebs before he rushed over to Brightflame. He gently placed the cobwebs in her wound and as soft as he could but still pushing, he put the cobwebs father down into the wound. He picked up the poppy seeds and put them near Brightflames head before he began to chew the marigold to it was a little soked before he put it into the wound. He then padded back over to her neck and set the marigold in her wound before looking over her body. "Is there any other cuts or open sores?"he asked the orange she-cat and put the juniper berries next to Brightflame's head.

Brightflame winced as the marigold seeped into her wound. She closed her eyes, and mewed between barred teeth, "My-my shoulder," she mewed. She quivered. Why must healing be so painful? she wondered. She also wondered what was happening to Brokensoul. She tried to turn her head to look, but her neck hurt with the effort. She let out a cry of pain. Then, she became still and mewed, "Sorry," to Crescentpaw. She sighed and let him do his work. She wondered how Medicien Cats remembered all the herbs and their uses. She knew that she would never remember them all. She knew that cobwebs stopped bleeding. She thought for a moment for another herb she knew. Nope, she concluded,I'd be a horrible Medicine Cat. She flinched as she felt the marigold in her cut again.

Crescentpaw said absolutely nothing and went right to work on her shoulder. He picked up the other herbs that he had left and sat them down by her other side. He repeated what he had done before, putting the cobwebs and marigold gently into the deep wound. The smell of fox hung in the air and he rinkled his nose in the smell. He then ran around to face Brightflame and looked at her face. "Anything else?"he asked checking her head and face. He knew that any head wound could be very painful. "I don't see anymore blood. I think you should just get a lot of sleep and I'll give you some more poppy seeds in the morning." He smiled softly and nodded his head.
